Hi guys,

I'm currently searching for a programm which can CUT (certain parts out of) videos.

The use case scenario is the following:

I'm using NVIDIA's ShodowPlay (in Shadow Mode) to save the last 5 Minutes of game footage I've just played.

But actually I mostly only need the last 30-60 seconds.

Does anyone of you know a programm with which I can extract these parts without having to re-encode the video and therefore losing quality?

OS: Linux / W8

Thanks in advance for all suggestions! :)

Windows movie maker should work for that.

Any video editing software can do this, you're actually editing the video while doing this. Editing isn't strictly adding effects, text, transitions etc.

Video cutting is basically Video editing. Fancier effects usually falls under the term "compositing".

Avidemux is a good free option for cutting/combining clips.

Guys what he means is, so that he doesn't have to actually render it out. So cutting the file without compositing programmes (like rashdanml said) (just shortening it)

Gonna try Avidemux then.
