Running hotter

Hi i have just got a MSI MPG X570 gaming plus running a RYZEN 7 2700 and

find that it is running 20c hotter than my last board which was a

ASUS Prime X470-PRO can some one tell me why that is 

could it have been shiped overclock when i got it

That's to be expected since you downgraded your motherboard.

 

The Gaming Plus alongside couple other MSi branded X570 boards are the worse available X570 motherboards on the market on the regards of their VRM and Power Phasing layouts:

 

While the Gaming Plus in specific wasn't tested it should fall between the Edge and Pro Carbon.

 

With that said, make sure your CPU cooler is properly mounted and that your VRM is receiving all the airflow it can get.

I have a AIO Coolmaster with a push pull on the RYZEN 2700X

and a AIO on the vido card NVIDIA GeForce GTX1070 TI 

is there eanything that i can do to cool it down

x570 board for a 2700?  you could have gotten for example a b450 with good VRMs etc, such as the MSI mortar or tomahawk, and for less money. Unless you wanted the I/O of the x570 or for a future build of course?

 

Anyway, regardless, there shouldn't be a 20C difference in cooling your CPU from one motherboard to the next.. there must be some reason behind it. have you checked the CPU fan curve? did you change the case/chassis?

It's probably just a voltage and clockspeed issue, check voltage in the UEFI it may be overkill for the CPU, lower clockspeed to 4GHZ and Vcore to 1.33-1.35 and see if temps come down. My 2700 is running about 5-7 degrees over delta with a 240mm AIO at idle with 4.125ghz static and 1.35 volts Vcore.

It may also be a thermal paste issue.
