Just hooked up my new FreeNAS machine have it all up and running but then when I go to access it from file explorer I can't get all the way in. In network I can see the "freenas" machine. Then when I enter that it shows a Homes folder. once I try to access it I get the message "windows cannot access \\FREENAS\homes.

this happens on a windows 10 pc and a windows 7 pc on the same network.

I only have one SMB and it has full guest access

try making anouther share.

Try mapping the drive with map network drive instead of using the network browser, and click use other credentials.

The same issue persists. it simply says that windows cannot access the homes folder.
