Win7 setup.exe

I would like to know can Windows 7 be installed just from setup.exe from ISO file?

setup.exe doesn't have the actual install files, so you need the extra files or the full iso files.

 

If you installing on a new system you need the iso, but don't install windows 7 on a new system.

The setup.exe in the ISO file can be used when the ISO is mounted either virtual or with USB/CD. This can only be used for upgrade. For fresh install you have to boot the computer with a CD/USB with the ISO installed on it.

 

Edit: So yea copy setup.exe to other PC and then starting it won't work
