I have a big problem. Basically i bought a ps4 controller like 6 months ago to use for my laptop everything was amazing i got home i unpack it connect it via bluetooth no problem everything works out great and im enjoying life :)

But then 6 later im sitting at almost 1am in the morning trying to figure out where did it all go wrong.

What happend is i didnt use the controller for like 3 months, and in that time i installed a new SSD in my laptop and got new fresh windows.

So you think wheres the problem. So yeah its here. Today i decided that i want to do some casual gaming and i was like Im gonna hook this bad boy up and play. But NO.

I turn the controller on i go to bluetooth settings in windows and i see that somethings wrong. The controller didnt want to connect at first but eventualy after a few tries it managed to connect sync and then it just fucks off and dissconnects basicly like who the F are you get out of my bluetooth. I tried everythin i have downloaded some DS4  windows or what its called, nothing can detect it i cannot connect it via bluetooth they just dont wanna be friends. At first even on the usb the controller would show zero signs of life but then after changing 2 different wires i tried another one and the third one worked and now yes i can use ps4 controller with a short 1m cable that i have but thats not what i bought it for.

Does anyone have any ideas or something how do i fix this crap. I was looking for everything maybe bluetooth drivers are shite or usb drivers or i dont know anything what the fuck is wrong with this thing and now im going mental my eyes are red i want to sleep but i want to fix this. And fun fact when its connected via usb its detected as a sound device not a wireless or usb or something that would make sense. So if anyone can help me please i need help. If not feel free to just throw rocks at me. Thank you for your time. BTW im really tired im after 11 hour shift at work and i have been doing reasarch for like almost three hours so sorry if this letter makes no sense

Have you gone to the manufacturer website of the laptop and updated all the drivers through there? Windows is notorious for installing out of date or even the wrong drivers.

Have you tried doing a factory reset on the controller?

Hello my friend. Windows update sometimes mess with drivers. Go to device manager. Delete bluetooth and restart -> windows will install drivers again.

try deleting the wifi card at the same time. (that is where the bluetooth controller is located)
