SSHD doesn't want to be initialized!

XPI Sigma

So I'm trying to re-purpose my laptop into a fighting game console for my TV, and my SHDD doesn't seem to exist anymore. The system is running an SSD with a fresh windows 10 install. Here are the problems I've been running into:

1. Within Disk Management, the drive's size is unknown, and not initialized.

2. The drive doesn't want to be initialized upon right clicking.

3. When pressing initialize and choosing a boot type, it says "device which does not exist was specified"

I've erased all partitions previously, but I'm not sure why my disk doesn't want to cooperate. It could be dead, but before replacing I'd like to confirm it isn't a software thing.

good change the drive is dead. Try the drive in a different system, or try the drive with a different os, like a linux usb.

What does the samrt data look like?

It won't even show up in SeaTools so I can't even check the S.M.A.R.T or anything.

Like Wizardy already said try a Linux live USB, personally i won't trust Windows before I declare a drive dead. Often it won't show up when the filesystem is unknow.

Looks like a dead drive to me as well. I would try it in a desktop computer or another laptop and see if it does the same thing. Usually when it shows as uninitialized in disk management like that and is un-accessible it's dead.
