[Solvedish] Bluetooth tethering not working :(

I'm moving in a week so I am currently without WiFi. The only way I can access the internet is with my phone. I tried letting my computer connect to my phone so it can also access the internet, but something's wrong. They paired but computer can't access internet. Pls help

(My computer's name is "Ryzen 5 2400G" btw)

It works on my old thinkpad laptop, but not my desktop.

Are you using this app? It might be the lack of dial up support in my desktop, with it you basically use dial up over bluetooth to your phone. You could try wifi or USB tethering.

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

Just checked simply by pairing with my phone then right clicking on the Bluetooth icon in the system tray and selecting Join a Personal Area Network then right clicking on my phone in the list and selecting Connect by Access Point.

It works but I can only get 800Kbit down, 600Kbit up, compared to 50Mbit down and 20Mbit up using WiFi hotspot.

I'm also not convinced this will bypass your tethering limit (though you are less likely to reach it at those speeds) as its still tethering and will likely be detected the same way they would WiFi or USB tethering.  AFAIK its not your phone which tells them you are tethering, they look at your network traffic headers to see if its originating from a PC.  A VPN would perhaps confuse their detection, but bear in mind this would be a breach of contract so probably not a great idea anyway.

Streetguru - I downloaded the Bluetooth version and it works, thank you very much. Ran a test 3 times, averaged 1.02 Mb/s down 0.77 Mb/s up. Tried the WiFi app after, couldn't get it to work, but Bluetooth will be fine til I get WiFi in my new apartment.

Alex Atkin UK - My pc is able to set up my phone as the access point but my pc is still not able to reach the internet. My pc says something is wrong with my settings but I've already activated the button on my phone that allows internet access. While the Bluetooth Tethering app works, it would be nice if I didn't need to use it.

Thank you guys for all your help, it is very much appreciated.
