Hello! Friend asking about PC.

He can get 1156 board + CPU + RAM + GPU + Case for around 100 bucks.

  • GTX750 Ti
  • Xeon X3480
  • 8GB DDR3
  • FSP Fortron 450W

Is it worth the effort or should he save money and go for Ryzen startup build slowly?

He is not that much into gaming, something like GTA and NBA 2k series. Mostly works on studies projects.

Plex server also would be nice.

Thanks.

for $100 it's not a terrible deal on paper, but what CPU are we talking?

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

PSU tier list

How many watts do I need?

PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

Xeon X3480 and 8 gigs of RAM and H55 board. I guess this Xeon can be overclocked.

Thanks for help. Everyone told me, that offer was great. But I looked around for other combos. Now there are 4 offers.. I guess it's time to choose the best option.

1155 socket costs ~65 bucks

  • 4GB DDR3/16GB
  • H61
  • i5 - 3570K
  • OC and upgrade potential

1156 socket costs ~65 bucks

  • 8GB DDR3/16GB
  • H55
  • X3480
  • Good OC potential to 4.00GHZ

1356 socket with MB from China costs ~75 bucks

  • 8GB DDR3/32GB
  • X58
  • E5 - 2420v2

1366 socket with MB from China costs ~75 bucks

  • 8GB DDR3/32GB
  • X58
  • X5650
  • OC potential and upgrade potential

GPU 750GTX Ti and PSU 450W FSP for build.

Little update about this.

Maybe it is worth to check 1155 or 2011 or Ryzen deals instead of 1156? Is there any chance to build something better with ar without a GPU with 100 bucks than this build?

For example 1200 costs 30 bucks.

Which offer I should go for?

Unless you have some access to killer Ryzen deals, I'd say this is the best mentioned so far if you can add another 4gb stick.
