Is it better to go for the 3700x over the 3600? I thought it was usually the case that i should save on the cpu for a better gpu if possible. Or is the 3700x better for reasons that i dont know?

you'll be fine with just the 3600, i picked the 3700x since there was still some money left over.

Im thinking of rebuilding my pc with a 3600 with a Asus Prime x570-Pro.

Ill be adding a wired and wireless nic as well

The monitor/tv i will be using is a Samsung Nu8000, 4K, up to 120 refresh rate( from what I understand)

Since im also using a 1070, will this build be enough to run games like ac odyssey, or ghost recon, as well as any other big game coming out in the next couple years at 4k?

Basically, ill be using this for gaming and media

Im hoping to run max settings if possible.

Im also doing a full custom loop for gpu and cpu to a 360 slim rad.

Can the 1070 even run newer games at 4K high detail today? Last I checked I don't believe it could or it struggled at higher details at least especially if you're planning to push over 60FPS in those games with that TV/monitor.

Why are you spending over $1200 on SSDs?!?! Seriously, get a HDD for mass storage, you don't need everything on your computer to be NVMe/SSD based.

I feel like this is just a troll post.

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

Yah, I was skeptical at first but I had completely missed the SFF case at the start that will basically only fit a GPU, let alone a (useless) wired NIC and wireless NIC, or a full custom loop of any kind.

Sorry, not a troll post. I do have the pc-o7 which can fit an atx mobo and atx psu. I have a custom loop with it at the moment. But i really am thinking of changing the motherboard and cpu

Your TV is maybe 1080p 120hz, or 4k 60hz.

You can run games at 1440p and use AMD's upscaling tech on NAVI to get closer to 4k visuals. So probably just get an RX 5700 pulse if it fits, buy a reference card otherwise.

Going past high settings in games really isn't worth it in general IMO.

Going to want an SFX power supply for a case that small/thin. Don't need those SSDs. Don't need more than 16GBs of RAM for gaming.
