Changing program names linux.

Hi

Is there any way to change program name's in Linux.

More precisely I am asking if there is any way to change names of programs running in the background from "daemons" to something else?

Daemons are background processes that are supposed to run in the background. Are you sure you are looking at their actual names and not just their types? They can, for example, get a d suffix like sshd for the SSH daemon.
