Stepper motor question

Hi everyone,

 

Kind of an off the wall question, but I am working on a project which requires me to somehow mount a 'platform' to the 5 mm diameter drive shaft of a stepper motor so it rotates. 

 

 I think I need some type of flange collar with a set screw to hold it on the shaft. Here's a very rough sketch (excuse my terrible drafting abilities) of what I need. I've seen the part I need online (but also $20-30) I was hoping I could find something that works at the local hardware store or hobby shop for a few bucks. It is a  light duty application and the shaft will rotate very slowly, so I do not believe it will need to endure extreme stress. Any ideas of what would work? Thanks!

Exactly. I found a few online, but they either cost way too much (or in the case of ebay) would take 1 month to arrive from Hong Kong...

 

Can you think of something from a hardware store I can retrofit to work? This doesn't have to be elegant...

I have no way of knowing what your local hardware-store has or doesn't have. The parts in the picture I posted are pretty easy to find around here, but if they aren't over there, then I don't have anything to suggest right now.

I may have to get creative in my thinking when I visit Lowes tonight
