Youtube on "TV" support ending soon

Hi guys

So I've been using youtube.com/tv on my PC for a very long time now, because it's very convenient. (This way I can chill on the couch and control youtube from my phone to my TV eventhough I don't have a smart tv or console)

For those of you who don't know, this version of YouTube works just like YouTube on Smart TV's and consoles. I got on the website today but I got a pop up saying "This version of youtube will stop being supported soon", which is very annoying (for me anyway).

Do any of you have an alternative or solution to my very much 1st world problem?

Thanks for your advice :)

You could always just get a chromecast or similar and carry on controlling/casting it.

True, but I find those too expensive to justify buying one considering their limited functionality

Ah, I thought you were talking about the TV app on a smart TV itself. Whoops :)

Well, their functionality is useful for like in your situation where you don't have a smart tv or set top box and you want to stream/cast from your mobile. I gave my chromecast to my mum so she could watch stuff downstairs on the TV from her phone, when I bought it it was like £22 or something.
