should i upgrade?

hi guys, i'm new in this forum and i really need some good suggestions about what i'm going to do.

specs i have currently:

- mb msi h81m e-33

- cpu i5 4460 3.2 ghz 6mb cache

- ram 4x2 ddr3 1600 mhz

- asus radeon hd 7970 3go gddr5 384bit directcuii

i'm going to upgrade from my i5 to i7 4790 and from radeom hd 7970 to rx 580, this should be fine to play current games at good fps! and i'm gonna get 2x8 rams ddr3 1600

with a combo like thatvi don't really have to buy a whole new motherboard and new ddr4 ram and new cpu 6th/7th generation.

so with that been said, which is good? upgrade with the same motherboard and ram or change the whole thing!

keep in mind that i can't afford to buy new mb and new ddr4 rams.

thanks.

how much is it gonna be to upgrade to more ram and new cpu?  The new ryzen chips are pretty cheap or you could even pick up a 2nd gen chip for even cheaper, pair with a b450 mobo and 16gb of high speed ram and ur set.

Current Rig=  AMD Ryzen 9 5900x, Asus Crosshair Hero VIII, EVGA RTX 3070 FTW3 ultra, 32gb Corsair Vengence Pro RGB 3000hz White, EVGA 750 P2 PSU, 1TB Samsung 980 Pro, 500gb samsung 860 evo, 250GB Samsung 850 evo, 2TB Samsung 970 Evo Plus, 2TB seagate firecuda sshd,  LianLi PC 011 Dynamic XL ROG edition, Corsair h150i elite capelix

if you stay with the same mobo it should be fine, but i would personally upgrade the mobo too.

i live in a third world country, computer parts are not cheap, i'm gonna stay with my msi h81m e33 mb but i will upgrade it to i7 4790 and sapphire rx 580 8gb, and i will change from 4x2 ram ddr3 1600 to 8x2 ddr3 1600, this will be good to play current games and next gen at high or very high @1440*900 resolution or even 1080p when i upgrade the monitor! thanks in advance <3

Just get the rx580. That i5 is fine. No point in upgrading an ancient platform.

Depends what you're paying for each.

do you mean new entire motherboard, cpu, gpu, ram?
lets just say i7 4790 (124$) but buying that brand new will cost me 314$
is this make the picture clear for you?

will the i5 4460 bottleneck rx 580?

It'll be fine. There will be a minor bottleneck though.

ok thanks, but the change of getting like 10 more fps with i7 4790 rather than i5 4460 is quite good

It isn't worth it though.

I'll recommend you to save some money and use it to upgrade your CPU, Mobo and ram later on.

Rx580 will do just fine with the 4460

in the future, 2-3 more years from now, when i'll upgrade to a new 8gen/9gen motherboard + cpu 8/9gen + ram 2400mhz ddr4, is the sapphire rx 580 will still fit between them good?

Yeah....

Or else find used Vega 56. They go around for $180-230 in the used market.
