Hi everyone currently I am running an AMD FX 4170k and It is far beyond time for me to upgrade because with the games I play I max out the CPU in no time. So I was wondering what would be the best CPU to upgrade too my max price is 700 for both the CPU and mother board.

P.S I am looking for a mother board like the Maximus VI or the VI extream what are you opions and then base the CPU off of that I was looking at the 4770k or 4670k but cannot decide?

Any help would be really appreciated thanks

If you plan on keeping the set up for a while, then a 4770k would be a good route.

If you upgrade often then the 4670k is a better choice.

$700 is loads. Assuming you're talking USD.

Ok and the $700 is including price of the mother board which is the other issue that im struggling with because I want alot of the featers but cannot decide which one would suit the cpu better

You should easily be able to grab both for $700.

Do you want a lot of features because it sounds cool or will you actually use them?

I find most people don't actually need more than a mid-high end board, and if they do spend more they never use the other features.

The i7 is a tiny bit faster in BF4 but in the other games it's not even a tiny bit better. Don't get a Maximus VI Extreme or formula whatsoever theyre just for the blingbling and theyre full of gimmicks something like a z87 pro3 is just all you need will do any kinds of OC's on haswells. I would get an AMD GPU mantle should improve the performance and theyre bringing soon an equivalent to shadowplay (recording/streaming) that doesnt even effect the performance. A custom loop is pointless really, you're hitting a thermal wall before you even can take advantage of their cooling capacity.

That becomes my issue I really wanted the prioritized packets with the LAN port that both of them have but I wasen't sure if I would end up OC to the point of needing the OC panel on the extreme which is what i was looking for?

should I just go with the maximus or would there be a better option?

Yes I know that the point for me of the custom loop was to turn it into a really clean looking set up (mainly for style) because im not overclocking it enough to ever hit temp limits that could be dangerous.

Are you planning to watercool the gpu's as well? If not, just get an AIO cooler imo.

I agree with most of this, though don't get an AMD card based on Mantle alone. There are currently only two games that have said they'll support it.

If you're in the US they're also a little over priced right now because of mining.

Custom water loops look nice, but remember they do require monthly maintenance. It's not just build and forget.

I'm pretty sure you can do everything the OC panel can with software.

If you really want to spend the money you can, but it's more for epeen than anything else.
