Considering and upgrade

Hey there so I’m considering upgrading my current rx 570 4gb to either an 8gb model or a 580 8gb but I don’t know if I really need the extra horsepower. My current system I mainly use for gaming and streaming but I also edit videos occasionally. I’m wondering if simply upgrading my amount of VRAM and not going a model up will be all the help I need. I feel sometimes having a bit more head room would be beneficial for streaming/editing. I don’t really ever have issues when streaming except for the occasional frame drop when streaming Apex.

well, you should only upgrade if you see a greater performance target you can reach. Perhaps going from a 570 to a 580 will let you go from medium to high details. As for editing performance, you can already check how many resources are being consumed with software like hwinfo, so you can see if extra ram is warranted.

It's highly unlikely you'll notice a difference by going to the 8GB card.

As others have suggested, try actually jumping up to the next level card. Even a 1660Ti would be decent.
