5700 XT reference vs 5700 XT Pulse with that price difference?

Slazyel

Hi guys,

So, where i live prices are a joke. So, with that in mind, which model would you recommend?

5700 XT reference: $500
5700 XT Pulse: $590

Would you say the 5700xt pulse is worth more?

90$ more.. no not really.. but it is superior in terms of cooling. If you dont want to spend 90$ for the extra cooling and less noise, you could always do the 2$ hack that Gamers Nexus did to properly cool the GPU with some plastic washers and thermal paste instead of the graphite pad thats used now because of uneven die height.

That's like a 2 degree difference, and it's still really hot and loud.

I dont know where your located but I'd look at the 2070 super cards and see how the pricing is on those. I personally wouldn't pay an additional $90 for the pulse but I also wouldn't buy a blower card. I bought a blower card one time and swore to never do it again unless I got the card for a steal like half price of the MSRP

No cpu mobo or ram atm

2tb wd black gen 4 nvme

2tb seagate hdd

Corsair rm750x

Be quiet 500dx

Gigabyte m34wq 3440x1440

Not if you use good thermal paste. Took mine down by over 10°c, and that was going from undervolt+underclock with aggressive fan curve to stock.

Just used Prolimatech PK-3 paste, and no washers.
