You can click on the details dots for the video and say "not interested", then "tell them why" and say "not interested in this channel", or whatever the exact wording on that option is.  I don't know that it will block it completely, but it should make it much less likely to show up, particularly if you do it more than once.

There is a browser plugin that can do it, don't remember the name of it.

I've been having that same problem... I will click the "Not Interested" button for some of the recommends, and maybe 4 or 5 videos later there they are again... It's like YouTube forgets who i am sometimes lol. I have gotten a full page of recommended videos that are kids videos or reddit videos, both of which I don't watch, nor are they similar to what i watch. Nothing like having a peppa pig video in your recommended surrounded by Bitwit, GamersNexus and Linustechtips lol
