S1200A SupremeFX Asus onboard audio vs sound card 

or newer ALC1220 

 

comparing S1220A to other two makes any difference?

the 1200 and the 1220 chipset are going to pretty much do the same and have the same features..what varies is what extra the company adds like amp and such for headphones.
 

now coming from say ALC882/883/888 chipsets. the 1200 and 1220 chip is superior in it's quality aspects, and a considerable improvement
and come with DTS ULTRA PC that the older chipsets dont have
