Crosshair VIII Hero m.2 slot connection to the cpu

Hello i recently bought Crosshair 8 Hero motherboard and ram as i wait for Ryzen 3900x or 3950x to appear at stock, i wanted to know which m.2 slot is directly connected to the cpu and which goes via chipset, i would think the one closest to cpu is directly connected but that was not the case with Chrosshair 7 Hero where bottom slot was connected to the cpu and top one was via chipset.... thus got me wondering which slot now is connected directly to the cpu?

I had mine in the top slot (same board) and performance was as expected (SX8200 PRO 1TB)..

Yes but it's better off connected to cpu directly
