Ryzen 7 3700x not boosting to 4.6GHz

Hi

So since the wraith prism was very loud at 4.3GHz I decided to temporarily disable PBO to keep it at 3.6GHz max.

After re-enabling it and even setting my BIOS to default settings, it appears it only wants to boost up to 4.0GHZ, I have no clue as to why it doesn't go to 4.6 anymore.

just dont have PBO enabled and run stock. it will still boost normally. PBO just increases the TDP and the maximum time it can boost etc.

My bad, I meant it used to run at 4.3Ghz just fine, BIOS is updated already as it's an X470 motherboard.

People say that tight memory timings limit boost clocks too.

Well it worked fine before, it's Vengeance LPX 3200MHz in case that helps

no? its might boost performance, but nothing to do with memmory timings.

just leave it at stock, it should do its boost without tweaking. and as mentioned earlier, the PBO just raises powerlimit and makes the boosting more aggressive.

Yes it can, as higher voltage on memory controller will raise temps.

Thats if you change the voltage on the IMC. And the IMC generates a tiny ammount of heat. And the ammount of voltage you can change is insignificant.....
