Hi all,

Was wondering if anyone else had the same problem and a possible fix. I have a 3800X on a Gigabyte x570 Aorus Pro and 16GB Vengence Pro. Everyone once in a while the system will hang for half a second with a loud audio buzz and screen freeze and then go back to working perfectly normal. I've tried messing around with every bios setting under the sun but sometimes I think I've fixed it and a few hours later it will happen again.

Anyone any ideas?

Are you sure it is not caused by a dying boot drive, faulty ram or something like that?

Both the Ram and the SSDs where bought new with the PC last month :(

Update the BIOS. And if you are using an older windows install id suggest perhaps reinstalling if all else fails.

I have the bios updated to the latest version and a fresh install of windows.

I've reset the bios and I'm now trying everything on Auto with just X.M.P enabled and the issue is still happening sporadically.

And that us exactly why they might be the reason. Ram usually doesn't die, but it might come out of factory faulty.

So run memtest, and also use crystaldiskinfo on the ssd.

I only see your reply if you @ me.

That's likely a memory error correction. It might be triggered by the temperature of the RAM. The question is if that's the GPU or the MB RAM.

Usually MB ram will just crash or BSOD after a while, like consistently (eg exactly 45 minutes or something, as that's when the clock synchronization triggers the error.)  GPU RAM on the other hand, causes the GPU driver to reset, and has a similar experience where the system will otherwise just keep on functioning.

I was thinking this as well, upping the Ram voltage seems to make the occurrences less common but they still happen randomly, looks like I'll have to have a chat with Corsair.
