9700k Has No Hyperthreading?

I just bought the 9700k a couple of weeks ago and just found it has no hyper-threading, i'm not to knowledgeable on how that will effect things. My previous CPU was the 7700k and i do 4k gaming while running a Plex server simultaneously and occasionally edit videos mostly 1080p but sometimes i will edit a 4k video, will the 9700k set me back at all?

7700K had 8 threads with only 4 cores, 9700K has 8 threads with 8 cores, its going to be an improvement no matter what.

there is some benefit of having hyper threading but, when comparing 7700K to 9700K, latter is going to be better just because having more cores.

You'd mostly notice the benefit if you had fewer cores.

 

8C/8T isnt bad at all and is preferable to 6C/12T imho.
