Hey guys, I'm about to build this PC, and I just wanted some last minute advice before I start ordering the parts. I'm going to be using it for gaming at 1440p at hopefully high-ish refresh rates with high settings (see the monitor I chose). I just wanted to know if I'm overspending anywhere, or if any of my parts are too overpowered/underpowered compared to the rest of the build or for what I want to use the PC for.

Just some more info:

  • This build revolves around my choice of an RTX 2070 Super
  • I plan on overclocking the Ryzen 5 3600
  • I already have a keyboard and mouse
  • I am aware of the potential issue my motherboard has compatibility wise with my processor, but I'm confident through my research that MSI's BIOS flash button feature will allow me to use these two parts together without needing another older cpu.
  • I am also aware that many of you will recommend the 5700 XT instead of the RTX 2070 Super. I was looking at this card too, but unfortunately there isn't really any availability for partner cards unless I want to wait 1-3 months for shipping, which I really don't want to, and I really don't want to have to deal with the blower style cards. Plus, the RTX 2070 Super doesn't have any driver issues like the 5700XT.

While I'm open to any advice and criticism, there are a few things that I'm looking at this build in particular:

  • How is my choice of cpu cooler considering that I want to overclock my Ryzen 5 3600? (I do probably want to stick to NZXT's Kraken line for aesthetics and matching with my case)
  • Does my power supply fit this build?
  • Is the Ryzen 5 3600 underpowered for the RTX 2070 Super? Should I go with the 3600X or the 3700X instead?

I want to start ordering the parts sometime next week, so this is just a last minute confirmation/confidence boost for me that I'm spending my money in the right places and in the right amounts. If your suggestion makes the build more expensive, keep in mind that while my budget is somewhat flexible, I really don't want to be spending more than $1700 USD, with a hard limit of $1800 USD, including the monitor. Thank you guys for your help!

Took out comma so that intro was less confusing.

3600 is fine with gaming. if you don't want to OC I generall recommend the pre-oc of the 3600x

The Tomahawk is good, though I generally recommend the A-Pro for cheaper or the Pro Carbon or the x470 Gaming plus, depending on feature-want

3600 cl16 RAM so you have max performance practically out of the box with Ryzen 3rd gen

Inlands 1tb Premium NVME for $120

yeah....I would still buy a blower style 5700xt and just add plastic 'washers' to the card(additional mounting pressure) and maybe replace the thermal paste...but the 2070$uper is easier than that

a case is personal.

The PSU is great though a

BitFenix Formula Gold or

SeaSonic FOCUS Plus Gold are adequate and cheaper

I would definitely not be paying that much for a TN panel nowadays...

AOC Q3279VWFD8 75hz 31.5" =$220

Acer VG271U Pbmiipx  144hz 27" =$380

Get a scyrhe fuma or ghermalright macho instead of the kraken, and a sabrent rocket instead of the 860 evo. An oloy warhawk RGB kit is the same speed while being cheaper.the 750w G3 is overkill, grab a 550w G2 or bitfenix formula instead.
