When I try to play some games at medium to high settings im getting this weird effect that i think might be studdering, but im not sure.

Basically what it is like is that the game runs smooth, but every 1-2 seconds it freezes for half a second.

What is weird is that im getting 100-200+ fps still according to the games built in fps counter and external fps counters.

If I drop to low settings it quits doing this

Normally if I have the graphics settings too high, I just get low fps. What is weird is that I am still getting in some cases over 300fps

Thoughts?

i7 6700k, rx 480 8GB, win 10

Have all latest drivers and updates, and has been happening for a bit now

games are war thunder, world of war ships, split gate, and some others

have you checked temps, usage, power limit and the clock graph? what PSU? have you tried to DDU the driver and installed the latest?

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Temps are ok (~60-70C) (from NZXT CAM)

it "studders" when it is 90-100% usage according to task manager

it has an after market msi cooler on it (I think it has a slight OC, I use the stock settings in watt man)

750 watt corsair PSU
