What you're asking for is a hardware feature. You could kind of do it with your data in software by adding checksum bytes in your data flow, but it's not really the same thing.

What OS are you using? What is the application? What hardware?

ECC memory isn't much more expensive than Non-ECC. If you really need error checking it's worth buying.

As far as I know it's not possible. It's basically asking how do I do X without doing X.
