Hi all,

I've just discovered the concept of F@H yesterday thanks to TechLinked's 200th episode! Better late than never, right?

I'd just like to ask if my configuration looks normal to you guys, as it would seem only the CUDA cores are being utilized for folding on my 1070.

I've left CPU cores at 3, as that kind of looks like the software still spreads it throughout all threads, but keeps the CPU load at around 60-70%, which allows me to keep working on the computer with day-to-day activities without noticing any performance penalty whatsoever.

Also, my home server runs a Xeon 1275v3 and has a PCI-E x16 slots empty - and I happen to have a RX 570 lying around - not sure if that's a productive card at all. Can someone advise if at all worth to install?

Many thanks,

littlegreen

That looks normal to me. Keep in mind that there is currently an issue with it not displaying the "Quick Return Bonus" in the estimated credit and estimated PPD numbers.

If you haven't already, make sure you register for a Passkey to use on your account so that you can be eligible to receive Quick Return Bonuses (extra point credit for completing the work units quickly)

I believe the RX 570 will do somewhere around 200-300k points per day. I would say it would be worth adding. Along with your GTX1070 it could bring your total PPD close to 1m PPD.
I don't think the CPU would make much of an impact. GPU folding is much, much more powerful and efficient than CPU folding. The gains you will get from having the CPUs folding would be minimal compared to the GTX1070 and RX 570.
My recommendation would be to run the GTX1070 as well as the RX570 in the other machine and remove the CPU folding slots. You can remove slots in the Configure menu under the Slots tab. Just select the CPU slot and click remove (This will cancel the work unit the CPU is currently on - If you want you can select the CPU WU and select "Finish" to complete it before removing it)

Looks like there is an error in your registration for the event. We have you down as "Littlegreen" for your Forum username but "I-dont-know-what-Im-doing" as your Folding name, but the F@H Client in your signature shows your Folding name is Littlegreeen as well.

@GOTSpectrum Can you please correct this users registration. ("Littlegreeen" with 3 e's for the Folding name)

@SpottyYeah that first registration was what I put down before I registered for the passkey. I mixed up the usernames and as a result re-submitted a Folding name littlegreeen (3 e-s). Obviously I didn't know what I was doing at the time....

If that could be corrected that'd be great, as I seem to be on the team's page already anyway:
