So back in 2014 I built my gaming rig and used a MSI Z87-G45 Gaming LGA 1150 Intel Z87. 8 months later I started having problems with it. My usb ports stopped working after windows booted. After doing some research I decided that even though it was under warranty after paying for shipping in Canada and waiting for an rma I would just buy a new one... So I purchased a MSI MSI Gaming Z97-G45 Gaming LGA 1150 Intel Z97. It has served me well until a few days ago when it started causing my computer to rapidly turn on and off. I used the old board to confirm the z97 was in fact the problem.

My problem now is tracking down a replacement. Is it worth trying to send away a board for refurbishment? If so who would be best to do such work? The cheapest boards I can find online are $175+ refurbished and most are closer to $250. I just wish I could find someone with an old board kicking around but I asked all my fellow nerds with no luck.

Just looking for advice guys thanks...
