Sounds like you learned what not to do already, what do you need to know?

Some basics:

- Build the PC outside the case first, much less painful to do RMA without having to take the motherboard out.

- route cables first, so put that PSU in and drag all the cables around before there's a bunch of stuff in the way

Spec list of the build you're doing?

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

PSU tier list

How many watts do I need?

PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

Did the parts all work together? Hopefully XMP let you hit max ram speed on that kit.

Yeah, don't try to rush. It takes 1-2h to do actual build with decent cable managing. And another hour on top to install OS. If you have looked at any livestream build by Linus, those are about hour long, and he doesn't do much of cable managing.

If your friend is somewhat into computers, do it together. I've built two PCs like that with a friend who doesn't like to build by themselves.

No offense but not waiting thirty minutes before you are about to build to ask in the future is probably a good start lol.

Oh, well your post was quite vague and made it sound like you needed general advice in building one. It seemed like others assumed that as well. You never asked about ram compatibility either. So it kind of seemed like you were just about to build one weren't sure exactly what to do.

I'm assuming you already built it by now. Did it go well? Did you have any compatibility issues?

What i meant was that i have build quite a few pc's but not in a while, my last build was assembled when 6th gen intel was still being rumoured and what i meant by i know what i'm doing is that i know all the basics and i'm fairly familiar with how it all works.

Note: I have just finished it the only issue is that he put the power and reset buttons the wrong way round so the reset button turns the system on and the power button resets it.

Everything went well we finished it in under an hour and the only issue is that he put the power and reset buttons the wrong way round so the reset button turns the system on and the power button resets it. So in a week we will be fixing the reset button, getting windows/drivers/software all installed

Actually it surprisingly only about 50 mins and it went really smoothly, there were only 2 cables coming out of the psu (which he accidentally got an sfx one but i don't think it matters, does it ???) which was the best and cleanest build ever, it was in the corsair 275r which has great cable management features too.
