This is a system I am looking to build. I have only even build a custom PC once before, so I am looking for some critique. I want to ensure compatibility before I commit to buying anything. I am willing to spend more if necessary.

I would look into the CAS latency for your ram. Apparently, Ryzen works better with RAM that has low latency and high speed. I am sure that LTT did a video on that.

Also, I think that the CPU cooler will fit unless you are planning to use the Chromax covers on the NH-D15 as well.

The enthoo evolv itx uses an atx power supply, no need for Sfx.

Thanks I'll get around to changing that.

Thanks for some confirmation on the CPU cooler as I was a little worried about that and I'll look into that latency for the RAM, I found the video you were referencing.

So it seems 3600 C16 was recommended. From what I found there is no RAM available yet that matches 3600 C16 2x16. I dont plan on building this right away so I suppose I will wait and see what happens.

I had no idea there was an ITX form factor case that could fit a NH-D15, seems it's really popular to do and there's a bunch of Chromax NH-D15's on pcpartpicker in that case.

I'm not seeing anything that really stands out to me other than the QLC 660p being not that great but provided you need the 2tb and don't want to pay crazy prices it's the best choice. Maybe consider buying two 1TB drives or a 4.0 drive when they come down in price? There's some really attractive 1TB offerings for only $10-20 more than the 1TB 660p.

Thanks, I'm not familiar with how ssds work. I'll look into getting 2 1tbs since the board has the slots.

Wouldn't recommend that board for a 12 core.

Reason? Considering the 3900x draws power like a 2700x

daily reminder that vrm cooling on consumer boards is a meme

look at like, tr4 supermicro server boards, or older g34 opteron boards

running quad 120w processors with no vrm heatsinks, just airflow alone

unless youre pushing an insane overclock or have next to no airflow in your PC at all, the 105w tdp of a 3900x will be just fine on even the toastiest of motherboards

there are a320 boards that support it and retain their warranty

That's personal preference, but I wouldn't trust a 12 core on that board.

Yeah, I know some gigabyte a320 boards support zen2, but what's the point when your CPU can even turbo.
