Will  the MSI Micro Atx B350M gaming pro support the Ryzen 1700x or will I need a bios update to get to first gen ryzen?

It does support 1st gen Ryzen, though dont expect the 1700x to run at its full potential since this board's power delivery is pretty weak

Right I knew that part. I just got a mega deal on the MOBO used so I went for it.
