NZXT H510 airflow question

PapaApollyon

Hi! I just built my new PC in the NZXT H510. The case comes with two pre-installed outtake fans, 1x in the back and 1x at the top.

I just installed another 2x 140mm fans in the front for intake, even though they might not contribute to a much cooler system they are better than nothing.

Now to my question - will this in one way or another mess up the airflow? Is it an okay solution or am I missing something?

The original configuration provides negative pressure which can pull fresh air for the graphics card from the rear pcie expansion slots. With 2 front intakes, it lessens this effect and tends to favor providing fresh air for the cpu cooler.

The only way to know how well the solution works is to test for temps.

Thanks for the fast reply! I will run Aida64 to test the CPU temps tomorrow. Do you have any recommendations of software for testing the GPU?

I personally use Unigine Valley. https://benchmark.unigine.com/valley

A small update:

According to the Unigine Heaven benchmark reading my GPU never peaked 64° celsius. My CPU never peaked 52°. This was with only 1 front fan for intake, so I think the readings are pretty good.

Hi, I’m new to pc building and just have a quick question. If the two fans are intaking air on the front side, how does it take in air through a solid part of the case?

Airflow from the front refers to air coming through the gap behind the front panel at the bottom and the holes on the backside of the case. https://aphnetworks.com/reviews/nzxt-h500/2

So I’m still a little confused but if I were to put two fans on the inside of the front panel, they would be bringing in air somehow, right?

So I see this post is pretty old, however, I just bought and am currently building my system with the NZXT H510 case. I bought 4 Noctua fans (2x120mm and 2x140mm). I put the two 140mm fans in the front panel and the two 120mm fans in the back (one on top and one on the back). Still haven't finished the build however, still awaiting parts to come in. I will keep you posted on temps as I test them.

Any word on this? I just built in an H510 without considering thermals too much and ordered a couple noctua fans to replace the stock ones, but wasn't sure if adding two intakes to the front would really be that beneficial to me.

Haven't tested it but my guess would be no if you want to use the negative pressure factor as much as possible which that case seems to be designed for according to gamers nexus review.

I guess in the front since that's the only place you can fit 240mm cooler in the h500/h510
