My newish pic went bang! Help

My pc was on and I see it turn off and no fuse was blown and the lights all still on and the green light on my graphics card showing it had power. I re plugged the power cable in flicker the on switch button a couple times and it goes pop and I have no clue what to do

if it went POP.... where did the magic smoke come from?? Chances are from the PSU.

Brand new and it was a gigabyte so reliable

Name alone does not make it reliable. Everyone manufacture has products in the full spectrum of space available, from the dirt cheap fire hazard, to the top end best protections, Titanium rated etc... a name alone does not guarantee that its a quality and reliable unit. Since you likely will need a new PSU, and hope to god it didnt take out other components such as Graphics card, Motherboard etc.. which does happen when a PSU dies, here is a thread with the rankings of PSUs based on there quality, not name.

gigabyte barely makes any PSUs; brand name doesn't make it good

only way you will know is when you get a new PSU and test and see what works and what doesnt.

I’m going to buy one from curry’s tmrw see if it works if not return it but would you be able to explain how I can test the stuff thanks
