question about pcie lanes

planning on a amd 3900/3950x build and x570

it is for a nas and all my current HBA cards are 8x gen3

I am assuming that it will still take up 8 pci gen 4 lanes. Now I am wondering if I install this in the x16 slot will I loose 8 lanes or can I move them to another slot?

 

it has been a long time since I built a new computer
