Help 2700x!

I've recently just brought and built my rig to turn on my pc not being able to go to base clock what so ever tried updating drivers no luck tried overclocking it it lowers the speed 3.2ghz is max speed base clock is 3.7 someone help its hindering me at every given turn mobo rog strix B450-f

Yes I am by a large amount base is 3.7 I can't hit over 3.2 I over clock it goes to 2.2ghz sorry for lack of information

Have you updated the BIOS? Have you made sure you aren't overheating due to a cooler issue?

I'm 40 degrees full load all updated mo idea what to do

3. 2 is max speed that's the peak clock go into bios it says 3.7

Reset the BIOS to defaults and then see what clocks are like under Cinebench or something.

Done that couple times and still comes in ryzen master cinebench and task manager 3.2ghz

Run CPU-Z or HWMonitor and see what they say. You should be boosting to 3.9-4Ghz all core under 100% synth load, depending on temps and such.

You're sure the BIOS update went smooth (you did it through a BIOS USB-stick, not Windows right?)

Reset the BIOS to defaults, then boot. Install HWMonitor and CPU-Z and watch the clocks, voltages, and temps while running Cinebench R15 or R20. Do a couple runs, HWMonitor will show you the highest temp, clocks, and voltages pulled after your runs, then report those back here.

I would make sure the bios update went well if need be do a reflash of the bios and see if that makes any difference.

Cinebench shows it fine at 3.7Ghz?

Don't use HWMonitor with Ryzen.  Use HWiNFO.

 

You may want to check your Windows power plan too.  Make sure that Maximum Processor State isn't less than 100%.

 

If you have Core Performance Boost in BIOS then also enable that.

I'm a dumb fuck checked power management and it was on balance and power state for CPU was set to 87% thank you for your help

the only guess i can think of is that they are ramping down for power management when not being utilized.

 

Mine goes as low as 2.1Ghz.
