Do I have enough Watts?

Hello!

 

I would like to upgrade my graphics card to a 2070 super, but I do not know if I have enough Watts from my power supply.

PSU: Corsair CX 500W

 

Future rig:

ryzen 5 2600 3.8GHZ (overclocked)

MSI X470 Gaming Pro

G.Skill Aegis 16GB 3000mhz

Intel 660p 1TB

Cooler Master Masterbox Lite 5 RGB (including fans)

Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER WINDFORCE OC 8G

You should have enough. Beware that your power supply isn't high quality and I'd probably upgrade it, but it won't cause problems, just shorten the life of your system.

The wattage is fine but the quality. If I'd it's a green label CX, upgrade immediately. If it's grey label, it's fine.

I believe the green labels are the only ones that don't come in X50 watts, so a 500 watt is definitely green label.

Thats irrelevant. If the card actually used that kind of power, you'd need an intel chiller to cool it. The 2070S uses about 200aw at most.

All spec sheets overestimate required wattage to make sure consumers don't pair with a super power hungry CPU or something and wonder why their PSU wasn't enough, but a 2600 and 2070 pull about 350 watts at most.

Yeap, and that's assuming a heavy OC. At stock it should be about 300-360.

What kind of processor that the average dumb person buys uses 500W?? The estimate is there for people who buy 750W Diablotek PSUs for 9.99$

a 650 watt PSU makes sense if you're overclocking a 2990WX

The grey label version is good, CX550 or 650 etc. CX550M and 650M are also suitable, so if you find a good price on those go for it.
