RAM suggestion for Ryzen 3 (3700(x))

Hello guys,

 

hope you guys can clarify some of the rumors about RAM and Ryzen 3. Currently I find it hard to find or decide on RAM. 

So anything between 3000 and 3600 is fine as I heared. Benefit 3000/3200 Mhz is far cheaper then 3600 and more common. 

 

My build so far. 

Case: Corsair - Carbide 678C TG black
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X  CPU-Cooler: be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 4
Mainboard: ASUS ROG Strix X470-F Gaming | AMD X470
SSD: 512GB Samsung 860 PRO
Power: 850W - Corsair HXi Platinum Graphics: RTX 2070 Super   Because I am going Air Cooler as far as I figured out I can't use most of the tall RGB modules and only modules like the Corsair Vengance LPX fits.  Also I don't know if there is a real benefit going 32GB (2x16). Currently I am running 16GB (2x8) and I max out at like 12GB with all my stuff.    What would be the best fit for my system? Rather go for 3200 Mhz and 16GB instead of 32GB and only 3000 Mhz?  If so, is there only the Vengance LPX Sticks that fit under that cooler or are there other options?   thanks in advance

Honestly would be easier to switch out the air cooler for something with better ram clearance...

Ye Water Cooler isn't an option. How can I find out if I have enough space for RAM? I don't want to order different RAM Combo's to try it out.

Just grab Corsair vengeance kits. No arch in the spreaders for a clean fit.

 

They suggest something around 3600mhz. That can easily be achieved with a solid 3200mhz kit with overclocking if you're willing to play around with it.

A decent 3200mhz kit is plenty for zen 2.

All it tells you is that it doesn't matter what speed you go with if you're willing to play with the fabric of the CPU.

The differences achieved between 4000mhz and 2300mhz were within a few percent difference when the fabric was effectively adjusted.

That 2133mhz kit with increased infinity fabric frequency outperformed a 3200mhz kit. And I was like WHATT?

I would say DDR4 3600 with low latency based on LTT's new video.

 

If you want to be a little bit dangerous then go for a higher end kit and see how far you can push your Infinity fabric.

3600 low latency are way too expensive. So, 3200mhz cl16 are a better buy.

Performance benefit can be worth the price though.

3200mhz raw with tweaked infinity fabric frequency can perform better than 3600mhz ram. Also, the cheapest 3600mhz ram kits have very high latency (cl19) which is comparable to 3200mhz cl16 ram.

Also, overclocking is a thing.
