Multi-(Different) GPU Setup Question

Hey everyone!

 

Just updated my wife's graphics card from the 1060 to a 2060 (non-super; got it for a really good deal on newegg before the supers came out). Aside from using it as a backup in the case that one of our cards dies, is there any plausible way to use it to help in multi-monitor configurations//non-professional applications? Specifically the system would be paired with a 1080ti. 

 

I read somewhere that it *can* help with certain things or with physx, but I'm not really familiar with how all that works.

u can set it as a physx card but its really really not worth it

In modern games there sadly is zero sense in doing this

For desktop apps and simply extending your multi monitor setup it will work but not be wort it unless your primary GPU is already loaded with displays.

Can help with things: Today also nope. Physics is hardly a thing any more and your 1080ti will do it at close to zero perf cost.

 

My idea: Install it and do some Folding or Boinc with it or... sell it or keep as a spare
