No, that's crappy. Get a CX550M

and yes its uhmmmm.. not optimal. You pay for the RGB but not for whats important

And yes I also recommend CX (gray one) or (better) the Vengeance Bronze. That for me is a perfect PSU for the "normal" gamer. I have build loads of them already ;)

cxm shouldn't be recommended that much, it's getting behind other units

if you were to change it, any budget in mind? and what country?

It's usually available in a lot of places, otherwise yes, I'd much prefer a more modern unit.

Might I ask you as one of the creators of the (awesome!) List about your exact opinion on the vengeance?

well... they actually planned to retire it and replace it with the vengeance silver

but as you can see, it still sells too well

the bronze is somewhere in between the cx 2017 and cxm 2015

the silver seems to be between the cx 2017 and txm

so both are at the right price pretty good units, but from my experience not widely available

Thank you sir! Well they have good availability here and are cheap. Sometimes less than grey Cx! So ok I have my peace of mind back building budget systems with them

Bitfenix whisper is the way to go honestly. Other ones are just too expensive if you want to go overkill just go straight for like AX, Dark power pro 11, Prime.

it can, my personal cxm does an 8600k and 1070 ti, with whining through, because dual forward

through if you can I'd step up to something like that gd, or something else, as there might be cheaper alternatives

Sorry if I bug you again, but I always hear about double forward being shii.. whats the deal with it? I could not really find answers on the iWeb's...

Btw: technical explanation appreciated, I am a physicist but not an electric engineer :D

i can't give you the technical explanation, but it's a technology mainly used in older PSUs, and has the drawback to whine with higher end GPUs (1070+)

it's not shitty per say, just annoying

I leave this question to @LukeSavenije, he does know substantially more about PSUs than I do. But I think its just that the M have Modular (or I think partly modular) cables.
