Just so you know those emails are going to everybody that has ever had an account in a security breach. Check yourself on haveibeenpwned.com. Your PC probably has not been compromised. 

That said for one-off infections that get past antivirus, I always turn to Malwarebytes.

I use AVG but in the past, I've had a RAT on my computer and it did not detect it. I got an email today with my password in it claiming they've a RAT on my computer which I think is BS the password probably came from a data leak somewhere. But just as a safety precaution which Anti-Virus do you guys use?

i use avast, but i rarely get any virus warning, i dont download weird stuff from internet, so my antivirus does basically nothing more than asking me to buy the paid version

I use NOD32.

 

I was using Kaspersky for over 4 years but it kept deleting the Private Internet Access Browser VPN addon as a virus and its not that's the only reason i changed.

 

I don't tend to bother with free anymore.

More then likely just using info from a data leak to get you to pay money I.E. Phishing

 

Oh and the best RAT finders is Kaspery and Malwarebytes afaik.
