Does anyone have any good suggestions for desks? I'm looking for a 48-55 inch wide desk (56 inch MAX) for my new setup. I found this one from Best Buy (1) and it seems pretty cool but saw it on amazon as well and the reviews were pretty bad. Also this (2) and this (3) looks pretty interesting. I'm also looking for desks with some kind of storage like drawers (left side would be ideal) and ones that I can buy in-store in the Greater Vancouver Area or from a reliable website.

Thank you!

My vote will always go for an Ikea desk. However, that IQDesk Power X is only $89.99...so I don't think you can really beat it for price. I'd get that.

Get a slab of wood, two legs (adjustable or not) and a shelf for the left side and that's it.

Pretty cheap and you can set it up how you want.

Otherwise I would still recommend second hand IKEA, my last two desks I got in that way. That made it super cheap. I got a simple about 1.7m wide desk for 20 euros and an Ikea Galant corner desk + extra piece for 15 euros (because of a sun stain).

There are often people looking to get rid of desks nearby (because moving out and such) which means people sell them for ridiculous prices.

I personally set up one of those shelves that is also mentioned in the thread above under my desk, for some additional storage.

I was interested in the custom Ikea desks too but (if I'm not mistaken) none of their tabletops *perfectly* fit my needs. I have a 56" space right now that I want to completely use because my current ~39" desk (from Ikea) is pretty small. I didn't really want to have a ~47" table since that would leave kind of an awkward gap. The only board form Ikea that I found that was ~55" was a nice natural wood colour, but does not match anything in my room or setup since I have a monochromatic theme going on.

Anyways I settled for this desk I found on Amazon and it's surprisingly cheap and has the perfect dimensions. I believe this would cost just as much as an equivalent Ikea desk with storage so I'm pretty happy with my decision. Hopefully it doesn't get wrecked in shipping and the quality isn't bad!

Looks pretty good! And if also else fails, you can always get a slab of wood to the exact size you want and vinyl wrap it.
