Hi there,

I was wondering if NoteBook FanControl was safe/if anyone had any bad experience but what I would also like to no is has anyone had it work for a laptop where speedfan was unable to work as I have an Asus gaming laptop where the fans run nowhere near their maximum even on their highest setting and therefore throttles and so I want to run the fan at 100% and after trying Asus gaming software that says this model is not supported and asking Asus support of there was a way to do it and just them misunderstanding and telling me to RMA the laptop this seems like my only option.

TIA Max

Oh the FX503? Yeah, you're out of luck - either repaste and undervolt it or just accept the thorttling. It's not a good cooling solution. The paste is also crappy. No amount of fan speed will fix it. It's a cooler designed for a 70W 1050 Ti, not a 100W 1060.

Just use it as is? No need to be so extreme.

First of I was joking I wouldn't literally bin it but It wouldn't be so bad if the 1060 was throttling a bit but its the CPU to a really bad extent like sub base clock bad which then means anything but games like CSGO and Overwatch have a severe CPU bottleneck and stutter constantly rendering some games unplayable.

60+W for 1050TI and 80W for 1060. This model even struggles to keep 7700HQ+1050Ti cool lol

Turn off turbo boost then by limiting the CPU power state to 99%. At least that may give a stable base clock. Also undervolt the GPU.

I will try that as I have now tried NoteBook FanControl which was unable to take control of the fans.
