Is memory overclocking the same on X370/X470/570?

So this question is a bit more complicated than the title suggests. I have an MSI X370 motherboard and with a 16GB 3000MHz CL16 RAM kit i'm only able get 2666MHz with a Ryzen 7 1700 without trying to manually tweak the timings etc. Will i be able to achieve higher memory frequencies by changing the board from X370 to X470?

I tested a Ryzen 7 2700X on my X370 motherboard and i was able to increase the memory frequency to 2933MHz with the same RAM and motherboard so the IMC on the 2700X must be better. My question basically is if i upgraded to a Ryzen 3700X for example would i be able to increase the memory frequency even further? Or would the motherboard hold it back at any point? I thought one of the main mentions of X370 to X470 was the better memory support but now i'm wondering if it just comes down to the motherboards BIOS and the memory controller on the CPU?

X570 doesn't support the Ryzen 1000 series CPUs.

Oh really? This question is mostly hypothetical because i would never upgrade my board before upgrading the CPU. I edited the post to rephrase my question.

Ryzen 3000 CPUs work on X370, X470 and X570 motherboards as do Zen+ (Ryzen 2nd generation CPUs) when the motherboards all have a Ryzen 3000-ready bios installed. The best way to find out if the motherboard makes a difference to memory overclocking would be to install the same Ryzen 3000 CPU (say a Ryzen 3900X or 3800X) in similar (from the same series)  motherboards (say all ASUS PRIME OR HERO ) motherboards with the 3 different chipsets with their most recent Bioses and overclocking the same ram modules (rated at 4000 MHz or more) in each to the max in each motherboard; has anyone gone to the trouble of doing this, please?
