So I have gotten this virus before and I removed it fine then (or so I thought). The 'virus' is the BetterSurf adware thingy and it is really quite annoying. I did multiple security scans using AVG and Malwarebytes and they said that they removed the treats but still no change in browser. As well, there is an unremovable extension on my Google Chrome titled 'Media Player    1.1'

Can someone help me out? Please?

you can try use Super AntiSpyware and see if that helps remove the software.

Check out my sig link.

Normally these malware infections will inject themselves into the settings of the program opening. For this I recommend to do a default reset on the browser and make new shortcuts. You removed the infections, but not what the infections intended to do.

I did a system restore to about 2 days ago which went unsuccessfully but when it booted back up a couple more suspicious folders popped up into my 'Program Files' folder. I uninstalled them and everything seems to be gone. I will do a final sweep with Malewarebytes and AVG to double check .

Try this out:

BACKUP!

Download KAV (KAspersky anti-virus) trial, ccleaner and malawarebytes (in case you don't have them) and update them also

Turn off system restore and restart in safe mode

install KAV and run it, everything that pops up delete it (not going to quarantine)

run Malareware and do the same thing

run CCleaner and repeat above

restart

Se if it's good and if so turn on the system restore!
