Bottlenecking CPU maybe?

Hi I was wondering if a Ryzen 3 2200g processor would bottleneck a RX 580 and if so would the Ryzen 5 2400g be a better choice.

And yes I am awake to the fact that both processors have integrated graphics.

No, my FX8350 doesn't bottleneck a rx-570 at all and that is a horrible cpu, you won't have any trouble with all the way up to a 1070 easily

I'd also recommend getting the new G one 3000 series.

the new Ryzen 3000 G processors are still running on Zen+, not Zen 2, so it isn't that big of a boost

Price is the sameish, might as well.

problem is the boards you either have to update the bios of an older board, which either requires an old cpu, or a dual bios, or you could get x570, which are still pretty expensive and seeing how they are shopping for a cheaper Ryzen I believe that cost is a big factor. All of those can cost money that could be spent elsewhere on a build.

Both of them would, the 2200G a bit more. To let the RX 580 breathe you'd need a 6 or 8 threads modern Intel or a 12+ threads Ryzen.

In what world? Have you even looked at your GPU usage in modern games?

You misunderstood.

An FX bottlenecks the hell out of an RX 570.

I know since it does the same to even weaker cards and I used a system like that fairly long. FX 8300 @ 4.4 + 16gb ddr3 1866 + R9 380X 4GB. The 380X was severely bottlenecked.

Now that I look at it is bottlenecked, I haven't really noticed since I play on a 1080p 60hz Monitor

Have you checked the GPU usage?

I feel like reborn after switching from FX to Ryzen although I kept my R9 380X. For example, I had "playable framerate" in Battlefield V MP, but once under fire I got stutters that prevented me from responding or evading, now it's smooth and my K/D improved a lot. The GPU varied between 60% and 90% in that game, now it's smooth on 95+.

 

Edit: also playing on 1080p 60 but I overclocked my monitor to 75 Hz.
