Temperature for 2080ti?

I have just build my very first computer and i can feel on my 2080ti that it has already startet to heat a little bit already when i am installing windows?

Just to be sure: How hot should they get when they are not really in use? The only thing running is windows install on a 4K monitor. It is not very hot or anything. I just want to make sure since its a kind of expensive card.

It should be fine, graphics cards get warm even when nothing is really happening unless the GPU is getting so hot it's unbearable to touch, modern GPUs have temperature fail safes built in to stop the GPU from damaging itself.

Use a utility to check the temperature. 

Here are two.

Both tell me that my 2080 ti is at 70c when running this bench.

 

RTX 2080 tis do run hot.

Just for reference, human touch is a terrible gauge for temperature in a PC. For the most part, up to 80 Celsius is fine, but for human skin that's burning hot.

As long as it remains below 90 degrees it should be fine.

Thermal throttling starts around 80 for most cards though so make sure to have a fan curve in place just in case.

70 degrees is nothing to worry about.

Yes, a GPU can run at 80 degrees (measured at the die), but the backplate shouldn't reasonably get that hot

Next time please do some research before spending that much money, if money is a concern for you.

 

Also, you can download software to monitor temperatures such as HWINFO64 and CPU-Z.

Belive me. I Did research. I was just unsure about if it should be warm when doing absolutely nothing. Afterall it is my very first build, so i havent really touched a graphics card before. I just had to eleminate that something like the wires were shorting or something like that
