when you overclock you put more load on the vrm feeding ram slots, the ram itself is being put under stress too

 

it should shorten life, but we are talking that you might sell that pc in 5 years and could be ok for a couple years after that, usually what dies first is the motherboard, and is usually lasting 5 or 6 years, perhaps more

 

the life of a pc part is long these days, you still see second hand gpus on sale after 6 years of the release

 

when you shorten lifespan usually ypu kill the part, and we are talking hard overclock and poor airflow on a cpu, ram is really uncommon

The X470 Aorus Ultra Gaming?

3200 MHz was for Ryzen 2000; it would make sense for Gigabyte to play it safe because of Ryzen 1000 and Ryzen 2000's weaker Integrated Memory Controller (IMC).

I would not be too surprised if it can run at a higher frequency when paired with a 37000X.

There were a couple AGESA BIOS updates throughout 2019 -- and the latest released July 12th (Ryzen 3000 was support was released in May 2019).
