Hello everyone,

I am planning on getting my first computer since my 3-4 year old laptop is not really working anymore.

1.Budget and Location: $2000 SGD excluding Peripherals.

2.Aim: I am building this to play games like Minecraft,League of Legends, Dota 2 and do some video editing.

3.Monitors: 2 in the future but i would like to start off with one

4.Peripherals: Yes i kind of need a new mouse and a keyboard and a new microphone that i can do recordings with.

I would recommend doing some reading and watch some video's on budget gaming PC builds and report back with a list of parts that you think might be good and we can give you feedback. Learning is good, Wouldn't you like to be the one answering these questions rather than asking? =P

Don't get that monitor. 1080p 27 inch monitors are not the best to go with. I would say get a Dell S2340M ior an Acer H236L bid they are good looking 23 inch montors that are not expensive. DO NOT GO FOR SOCKET 2011 its not worth it. Drop the cpu to an i5 4670K or i7 4770K and get an Asus Maximus vi hero. Use the money that you save on that and get a higher end gpu like a gtx 780. Also dont waste money on getting those fans they wont fit in your case anyways.

Dont get a razer deathstalker get a cheap mechanical keyboard from cooler master it would be better for you to game on.

DONT WASTER MONEY ON WINDOWS 7 ultimate. Windows 8.1 is the best way to go these days as games are more optimized for it

Life.exe is missing

Any other casing other than that? I kinda want to make it look good as well and also is that motherboard reliable? I have not heard of ASROCK before

ASRock is the 3rd largest motherboard brand world wide. Their Z87 motherboards are good quality and offer very good value. The company was founded by Asus in 2002 to make and market budget motherboards. Over the course of several years the brand became known for its innovative feature sets and reasonable prices. These days the company is not directly owned by Asus and has evolved into a manufacturer of reasonably priced, good quality motherboards for enthusiast, server, and workstation applications.

There are many ATX cases that would be suitable for the system. What you deem good looks is not necessarily what I would pick :) . A suitable case would be one that fits an ATX motherboard, can accommodate cpu coolers no less than 158mm in height and has a decent air flow - that does not mean lots of fans. I would suggest you look at cases from Corsair, Fractal Design, Nzxt, Nanoxia, and Bitfenix. Once you find one or two that you like you can ask if they would be good choices.
