Hey everyone.

so, I started using NDI and it was the perfect thing for me. but there's a huge problem...

every time I want to stream VIA NDI I have to put it on low bandwith and it screws up the quality A LOT! when I use the normal settings stream keeps freezing and pausing like it's buffering every two second.

I check and in the task manager, saw the network capacity on the second PC (that uploads to the internet) reaches 100%. so that's why I have to use the low bandwith and when I do the quality is trash...

does anyone know how can I fix this?

please shower me with your knowledge folks ❤️

what is your network link speed? If you don't have gigabit, an upgrade to gigabit should be simple and easy and be more than enough network bandwidth.

don't all new main boards have gigabit capacity? mine is b450 asus plus.

how fast are you copying files? You could be running at 100meg due to a bad cable or other slow device in the middle

well, task manager just says 100% and it goes red!

but the MB specifications says GB lan port. how can I check my router? that's the only thing in the middle!

is that 3.0mb/s

If thats true, then you have a slow link, make sure everything is on gigabit.

Is there wifi in the middle somewhere?

no both PCs are connected VIA cable and the distance is short if that changes anything. the streaming pc is set on GB ( I recently changed it) but it's still the same. how can I check stuff in the router? or can cables cause this problem? I think all my cables are CAT 4 if I'm not mistaken

that router is 100m only. So get a cheap 1gig switch and you will get full speed between systems. get something like this https://www.amazon.com/TP-Link-Ethernet-Optimization-Unmanaged-TL-SG105/dp/B00A128S24/ref=sr_1_3?crid=3E00NJAPZBRV7&keywords=gigabit+switch&qid=1563555339&s=gateway&sprefix=gigabit%2Caps%2C-1&sr=8-3

cat 5 or above is fine.

This is a switch, it doesn't need wifi, you will still use the wifi from your current router(unless you just wanna swap that out). The switch will connect your computers and the current router together.

Just plug your switch into one of the lan ports (probably yellow) on your router and leave your router as is.  Then plug plug both PCs into the switch.

Thanks. but I just discovered something else! I change my cable to cat6 just to experiment and pinged my router and noticed it's see the router with 163 ms which normally should be <1 ms. any idea what causes that?

try it again, seems like a weird one time issue.

I restarted my pc and still the same problem. it also doesn't get any ping from antena while I get the <1 ms ping for router and antena on the first (gaming pc)

what ping time do you get when you ping between the 2 pcs and not the router?

Try iperf to test network, ping isn't a good way to find latency as its often low priority network traffic.

I can see the streaming pc with <1 ms from gaming pc but it's destination host unreachable other way around!

how does Iperf work?
