My DVD drive isnt reading DVDs/CDs help

Tittle Says it all, I'm running windows 10, and trying to install a few games using dvd's iv had for a few years, I.E Crysis Warhead and C&C Deluxe Edition. and both the game disks for the games are in mint condition.

my DVD drive is :HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GH24NSC0

says the device is working properly.

says its up to-date

I have already uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers for the device.

I DO Have Deamon Tools installed, can that conflict?

please halp.

its not detecting any dvds, but the computer shows the dvd spin sign beside the mouse when I do put a disk in.,

open disk management. does the dvd drive hardware show up? (I am not sure if it is supposed to, but im guessing  here). 

 

also, is this a laptop or desktop? if this is a desktop, reattach the cables. make sure its all plugged in correctly

I did so even connected it with new cables and nothing,

it just don't want to detect anything or read it, My guess is I should try a new drive?

Is it only those discs, or do other ones work? Test it with other discs to determine if the optical drive is at fault or just you discs acting weird.
