3400G for 720p Gaming & Streaming?

If you are a streamer who is not partnered you more than likely won't stream beyond 720p due to watchability of the average person and lack of options for the viewer to change resolution settings.

That being said you can play games in 720p and output the stream at 720p 60fps as well theoretically. I am curious just how well this would work though as it could knock two birds with one stone and not require a graphics card at all.

Especially if you're alright with windowed mode at all and have 1 monitor in use. Thoughts?

I really like this thought, I think I'll buy a Asrock DeskMini A300. It just got an BIOS Update that supports the new APUs. I'm thinking about getting an 11 inch Display and hanging it over my bed and consume media throught it and a little light gaming at 720p or 900p.

Steve from Hardware Unboxed just did a pretty good review on the 3400G and he recommends instead going for a Ryzen 3 1200 and a RX 570 for a gaming-setup, since you'd be getting a whole lot more performance for about the same investment.

The main thing I got out of this is that the 1200 is €50 here, that's so cheap for an actually usable chip

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

I don't think this covers the whole picture of what I was trying to convey, this is purely for gaming but I would imagine for streaming the Ryzen 3 1200 would not beat the 3400g in CPU performance. I understand for gaming performance it's better but I doubt it would be for streaming.

You wouldn't want to be using software-encoding on either processor for streaming anyways, unless you enjoyed streaming a slideshow, so the CPU isn't relevant in that.

Theoreticly you could get a R5 1400 but you're right It's just interesting and I'm interested too in this. :)
